Libreville, Thursday, 14 November 2019 (Infos Gabon) — The Open Days organised the previous weekend by the leaders of Université Internationale de Libreville and École Polytechnique de Libreville aimed to present their programmes.
Located in the third arrondissement of the municipality of Ntoum, north of Libreville, Université Internationale de Libreville and École Polytechnique de Libreville welcomed parents and students in large numbers during the Open Days organised by the two higher-education institutions.
The day had two objectives: welcoming future students to the campus and presenting the programmes of the two institutions to them and their parents. The activity was intended to be part of the institutions’ academic programme, as the Rector of Université Internationale de Libreville, Prof. Frédéric Planche, had wished.
“We decided to hold an Open Day when students arrived on campus. We wanted to use the presence of students and parents to present our programmes. We wanted to explain the educational direction of the University as a whole. We are an institution that aims to be progressive and open to the socio-economic and international world. It was also the right opportunity to present our choices for this year and next year,” he said.
The Rector of Université Internationale de Libreville and his colleague from École Polytechnique de Libreville, Dr Gaston M’boungui, together with the other presenters, explained the programmes and career opportunities offered by the two respective institutions. Through questions and answers, students and parents appreciated the clarity and conviction of the presentations. The exchange made an impression on some students, including Berni Dylan Metogho, who described the discussion as instructive and the presentation of legal sciences and career opportunities as enlightening.
According to the Rector of Université Internationale de Libreville, Open Days at Institution Internationale Berthe & Jean are generally held in August alongside the graduation ceremony.
