A large delegation led by the Rector of Université Internationale de Libreville took part in the ceremony for the CAMES University Olympics (OUC), held on Friday, 18 November at the Radisson Blu hotel in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The CAMES University Olympics are both a major competition and a space for expressing, identifying and developing students’ talent in fields aligned with member states’ priorities for education and career preparation.

The competition gives Master’s and Doctoral students the opportunity to test their knowledge, character, skills and intelligence against those of their peers in the priority disciplines selected by CAMES, with particular focus on one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The OUC are an exercise in cultural integration and mutual enrichment through sharing experience. They also give every student the opportunity to present their abilities before an international jury at the final stage, be followed online through a dedicated platform and be identified by CAMES organisations, including companies, universities and institutions.

In this context, UIL provided a range of support for organising the OUC from the preparatory stages through to the final. Seventeen CAMES-area institutions supported the implementation of the third edition of the CAMES University Olympics. In his speech at the CAMES Excellence Evening, the interim Secretary General of CAMES sincerely thanked these institutions for their significant support, several of which travelled to Abidjan. Like Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD), UIL received the Sponsor Leader Award.
