Université Internationale de Libreville (UIL), located in Essassa on the outskirts of the Gabonese capital, organised an official graduation ceremony on Wednesday, 8 August for students in management, law and political science who earned their Licence during the 2017–2018 academic year.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the University’s patron Marie-Madeleine Mbourantsuo and several government ministers, including the ministers responsible for higher education, national education, equal opportunities and transport, as well as many distinguished guests.
Sixty-four laureates received their diplomas from the ministers present, the University’s patron and, above all, the cohort’s sponsor Michel Essonghé. The first university diploma was a source of satisfaction and should also motivate students to continue their pathway, as Rector Jean Joseph Tramoni stressed in his welcome address.
“You must make even greater efforts. You must complete the work. Your efforts should take you very far,” Jean Joseph Tramoni told the laureates. Michel Essonghé congratulated Marie-Madeleine Mbourantsuo on her work in favour of youth education and expressed his pride in the laureates and the administrative and teaching staff for the results achieved. “I am proud of you, your teachers and everyone who helped make this institution a centre of excellence,” he said.
Marie-Madeleine Mbourantsuo, the University’s patron, recalled the importance of education and congratulated the teachers on the examination results. The ceremony ended with a reception open to all guests.
