On Saturday, 18 April 2026, Université Internationale de Libreville Berthe & Jean (UIL-BJ) held an exceptional graduation ceremony for Master’s and Doctorate graduates. The major event celebrated academic excellence and scientific research in Gabon.
Administrative authorities, institutional partners, teacher-researchers, families and the wider University community came together to honour the laureates who had successfully completed their academic pathway. A total of 91 Master’s students and five doctors from the Professor Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier cohort, patron of this edition, received their diplomas.
This solemn and highly symbolic graduation ceremony marked the completion of several years of commitment, rigour and perseverance. It also highlighted UIL-BJ’s development, with the institution firmly committed to training a skilled elite able to respond to contemporary challenges nationally and internationally.
The event also included a special moment of recognition. During the celebration, UIL-BJ’s President was elevated to the rank of Commander in the Order of National Education, a distinction that recognises the efforts and commitment of President Marie-Madeleine Mborantsuo.
Through this ceremony, the University reaffirmed its mission: to promote quality higher education, encourage excellent research and contribute actively to the socio-economic development of Gabon and the sub-region.
The celebration featured several highlights, including the formal presentation of diplomas and official speeches, and was honoured by the presence of prominent figures.
